Q: Is Quality Construction Ltd licensed to carry out building work?

A: Yes, we have been building for 38 years. We have received several awards, we are members of the Master Builders Association. We have a team of qualified builders and we hold an LBP licence. You can search the LBP Register here.

Q: Are you able to provide a guarantee?

A: Yes, We provide the 10 years Master Build Guarantee. We are more than happy to help you  with preparing the guarantee application forms but we ask our clients to take out and pay the guarantee fee directly to the provider. You can find more information about the various guarantee plans, costs and what is or isn’t covered here.

Q: Do you have insurances in place that will protect me?

A: Yes, we carry and keep relevant insurance policies with State and we will go through all the policies with you to see if other policies are needed.

Q: What type of building work do you carry out?

A: We carry out all types of residential building work including new homes, additions, alterations, renovations, repairs and maintenance and landscaping work such as decks, fences, retaining walls, pergolas etc.

Q: I see that you provide your own plans but will you work from my own set of plans?

A: Yes, that’s correct, we provide a design and build service but we will also build from plans prepared by others.

Q: Do I need to have a written contract?

A: No matter how big or small the project, it is best practice to have all agreements in writing, however, by law, if the project’s price is going to be over $30,000 including GST then a written contract must be in place. We use the Master Builders set of contracts.

Q: Can I source my own products?

A: Yes, we will be happy for you to source your own fixtures and if needed we will be happy to offer advice on these. We will supply all building materials and systems. Please note that any fixtures or components you are sourcing will not be covered by our guarantee.

Q: Are you available over my ideal timeframe?

A: Yes, we ask our clients about their preferences and do our best to fit around these time frames.

Q: Which areas do you work in?

A: We work in the Porirua Region only. We work in Tawa, Linden, Elsdon, Titahi Bay, Ranui Heights, Cannons Creek, Witangirua, Ascot Park, Aotea, Papakowhai, Paremata, Whitby, Mana, Camborne, Plimmerton and Pukerua Bay.

Q: How do I go about applying for a Building Consent?

A: You can always prepare the application by yourself however, if needed we are happy to manage this on your behalf at no charge. You will need to pay the consent fees to council directly.
