Dan Albert

I have started my building career right here in Porirua in 1983 as a self employed builder. I like being able to produce quality work and provide quality service. Well, almost 40 years in business? We must do things right..

To raise the professional bar I have joined Master Builders some 20+ years ago, have served on the management committee for seven years and served four years as a Regional and National Judge for the House of the Year competition. I love working with and for my crew and have no intention to give this up any time soon. Outside work I like taking things easy, spending time with family and some local travel.

I’ve grown up from a farming background since forever in the South Wairarapa.
I was given the opportunity to start a carpentry apprenticeship through Quality construction in April of
2019.
Doing this enables me to keep the physical labour from my farming background and incorporate perfection
into my work with Dan, Stu and Hawera providing different methods and training to bring both perfection
and efficiency to our work.
Outside of work I am keen on keeping myself fit and healthy with a mix of 4×4 adventures and farm work.

Hawera Henry

My name is Hawera Henry and I am a fully qualified builder. I have been building for 15 years, with
the past five years at Quality Construction.
I hold my National Certificate in Carpentry along with the New Zealand Certificate in Construction
Related Trades (Supervisor).
I take great pride in my work and complete tasks to the highest standard. I am willing to go the extra
mile and I also like to keep communication strong between the home owner, all trades involved and
myself.
I am a father of three and a real family man. I love to be involved in my kids sports and you will often
find me on the sidelines supporting or coaching. I love staying fit and I am a regular gym goer.

Through my life journey I discovered that I enjoyed working with my hands and found that a career
in the construction industry is highly satisfying. I take great pride in the work I carry out
and the high-quality improvements we create,
especially on renovations.
I have been in the industry for 9+ years and with Quality Construction for over 6 years. during this
time I have completed my carpentry apprenticeship. During my apprenticeship I took part in the
2017 Master Builders Apprentice of the Year competition and made it into the top 10 in the
wellington region. In 2020 I have gained a NZQF Certificate in Construction Supervision which has
helped me further my knowledge in the field.
